
Who We Are
Located 15 miles from downtown Palm Springs, California, UHS Keystone School - Desert Hot Springs provides instruction for emotionally disturbed and developmentally delayed students in a more normal educational environment. Medically fragile students (severe diabetic, tracheotomy, gastric tube, severe seizure, orthopedic, etc.) are also admitted. UHS Keystone School - Desert Hot Springs offers California Standards Based Instruction plus research-based academic and behavioral programs. The school provides Social Skills and Character Education, using a multi-modality approach, and a Workability program. Transition to vocational and post-school life skills is also provided, as well as Sensory Integration and Therapeutic Listening. Programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder include Discrete Trail Training, Applied Behavioral Analysis, the Individual Critical Skills model and TEACCH. UHS Keystone School - Desert Hot Springs features small class sizes of 12 students or less and a staff-to-student ratio of less than 1 to 4. The campus features a library, cafeteria and enclosed play area. As home of the Keystone Cyclones, the school sponsors football, soccer, and basketball teams for students. We are committed to admitting and helping every child, even those that nobody else will take. Finding hope for children considered hopeless is something we do every day.
